Blessed Company of Rasulallah ﷺ

The companions of the Prophet Muhammad were given something no generation after them received: his physical presence, his voice, his correction, his gaze and most of all, his blessed company. We do not have his physical company. Yet centuries of awliya have taught that his nearness and his company never truly ended, it simply changed form, and remains open to those who seek it. Shaykh Sharafat Ali and Muhammad Abu Bakr walks us through this philosophy in two sessions: how the Prophet taught, guided, and shaped his companions into the kind of servants Allah is pleased with, and how that same guidance and company can still be sought and found today. As the Quran tells us, loving him is inseparable from loving Allah, for he was sent as a mercy for all the worlds, and remains the only authentic teacher with authentic insight into the knowledge every seeking heart is thirsty for.

Sessions

1. Gathering with Shaykh Sharafat Ali

In this session, we will be gathering in Masjid Anwar e Madina on the 5th of September at 9:30pm, to sit together and explore a question that has occupied the hearts of the faithful for centuries: how does one draw near to the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, when his physical presence is no longer among us. We will turn to the Islamic tradition itself for the answer, to the teachings and the lived experience of those who walked in his footsteps long after his companions had passed, the awliya who sought him not with their eyes but with their hearts, and who attained, through devotion and sincerity, a deep and lasting connection with him. Their lives testify that his company did not end. It changed form, and remains open to those who seek it with the same love his companions carried.

2. Gathering with Muhammad Abu Bakr

In this session, Muhammad Abu Bakr, as a student of knowledge will take us into the contemplation of being in the company of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessing be upon him. Reading and contemplating the sayings of Prophet ﷺ, that he spoke directly to his companions and we have them as preserved literature. We will be exploring how certain methods of reading that literature opens a transcendence for us to go back in the time of Prophet ﷺ and inherit that information directly from him instead of reading them from a screen or paper. Lastly, we will understand how even the imagination of Prophet ﷺ carries a spiritual energy that no other imagination carries, and how that energy increases with daily contemplation and communication with the Prophet ﷺ to an extent that you no longer feel separated from him.
